What is the Metrobus in Istanbul?
The Metrobus is a 50-km transportation line that splits the D100 Highway in the middle, forming a special route connecting European and Asian Istanbul with 44 stations and buses with an average capacity of 200 people.

Metrobus Lines:
There are six main daily lines for the Metrobus, each of which operates on a different section of the route, including the 34G line which operates over the full length of the route at night.

The Metrobus intersects with the Metro and Tram lines in these areas:
- With the M1 Metro line in Merter, Zeytinburnu, Bahçelievler and Şirinevler.
- With the M2 Metro line in Mecidiyekoy and Zencirlikoy.
- With the M4 Metro line in Uzunçayırç.
- With the M5 Metro line in Altunizadeç.
- With the T1 and T2 Tram Lines in Topkapı, Cevizlibağ, Edirnekapı and Zeytinburnu.
Fees and Payment Methods:
The Metrobus fees differ according to the number of stations crossed with special fees for students and teachers.
The fees are usually paid though Istanbul Card which is an electronic, pre-paid and rechargeable card. The card is bought at the bus stations or from the small vending stands spread throughout the city for a small amount of money and then charged as desired. You can return and refund the card any time and at any vending point. Moreover, there is a one-use paper card , which can be charged as desired once and then thrown away.
In mostly all of the transportation means in Turkey, it is stated by law that children under six (and by custom under ten) can use them for free.
