Foreign real estate purchases in Turkey rose by 129.6 percent

Official statistics showed Foreign real estate purchases in Turkey rose by 129.6 percent in August in comparison to a year earlier, with 3,866 units sold.

According to data published by the Turkish Institute of Statistics (TURK SAT) on Wednesday, the number of housing units sold to foreigners is more than 3,000 during the last month.

The statement issued by the Institute of Statistics, that the sales of housing units for foreigners has increased by 42.6 percent since the beginning of this year and until the end of last month, registering 18540 housing units.

 

 

 

Istanbul was the top city in terms of the number of properties sold, with 1,141 units, followed by Antalya with 675 units, followed by Bursa with 307 units, followed by Ankara and Yalova.

As for the nationalities of the buyers, the Iraqis came first with 3515 housing units since the beginning of this year. The Iranians ranked second with 1659 units, followed by the Saudis with 1180 units, then the Russians with 1048 units, and finally the Kuwaitis.
